Bike Vouchers Are Going Digital: What Does This Mean for My Employees?
Fully Digital: Accessories and Maintenance Directly Through the Platform
With the launch of the new FiscFree platform, we’re fully digitizing the process surrounding accessories and bicycle maintenance. The paper “bicycle coupons” voucher is being phased out, eliminating an administrative step. In this article, you’ll learn what this improvement means for you.
What’s changing?
On the new platform, it’s no longer necessary to purchase a separate “bicycle coupons.” Previously, this voucher was used for accessories or future maintenance. This process is now fully integrated and digitized when you order your bike. A separate process involving a paper voucher is therefore a thing of the past.
Key implications
-
Handled directly with the new bike
Ordering accessories and maintenance credit happens directly alongside the purchase of the new bike. This can be done at virtually any participating bicycle dealer. Whereas employees previously had to first purchase credit (the bicycle coupons) to buy accessories or maintenance later, this is now handled all at once upfront.
What does this mean for your policy?
In practice, nothing changes for you as an employer.
-
It’s still possible to allocate a budget for accessories and maintenance
You can now easily set this up under the same rules as for the bicycle. You can choose from: a percentage of the purchase price; a fixed (absolute) amount; or a percentage combined with a maximum amount.
Existing policy rules, such as a fixed budget of €240 previously allocated to the Fietsbon, can therefore be easily carried over to the new platform in exactly the same way.
-
Bicycle coupons that have already been issued remain valid
Employees who still have a paper bicycle coupons (purchased on the old FiscFree platform) can, of course, continue to redeem it for accessories or maintenance at a bicycle shop.
